Mr. Stilton Laverne Kidd, better known and loved as “Skip,” was born January 4, 1958 to the proud parents Dorothy Kay (Potts) and Paul L. Kidd, in Akron Ohio. He received his education in Akron School Systems and was a graduate of Buchtel High School.
Skip was an Army Veteran: joining in 1977 and serving his country for many years before retiring. Skip married his best friend, Edith Webster in 1983. He lovingly became a father of three upon taking nuptials and blessed with one more from their union.)
Skip loved all sports and was a proud fan (and sideline coach) of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University. He also had a passion for music and enjoyed serving as the Ministry Leader of the Audio Visual Ministry at First Missionary Baptist Church. He also was a comic lover but nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren.
Bro. Kidd transitioned from labor to reward on December 30, 2021 and was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Bettye, Paula, and Raymond and his wife of 31 years, Mrs. Edith Webster Kidd.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Sons- Shedrich ( Carisa ), Clarksville and Jarvis, Tampa, Fl. Daughters- Tanisha, Atlanta, GA and Stephanie, Rochester, NY. Siblings- Alice Michelle, Alison Renee, and Sherlon Kay Kidd, all of Akron. Grandchildren- Bryce and Bryanna Webster, Clarksville, TN and a host of nieces and nephews. Bro. Kidd also had many sons and daughters in faith around the city as he cultivated community by mentoring through his ministry and giving counsel where needed. Visitation Friday, January 7, 2022, 5-7 at First Missionary, Funeral Saturday, January 8, 2022, 11:00am at First Missionary. Burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
