Shedrick Hoosier, Jr, was born September 5, 1948 to Shedrick Sr and Vashti Armeta Orgain Hoosier. He entered into eternal rest on November 5, 2024. Shedrick is preceded in eternal life by his parents, niece Candace Armeta Dickerson Griffin, bonus siblings Emma Proudy Dukes Webb, James Proudy, Nannie Mae Proudy Taylor, Thomas Proudy, and Enos Leander Proudy, Jr.
Shedrick was a man of many talents. He was a graduate of Historic Burt High School Class of 1966 where he was voted Best All Around and Salutatorian, an Austin Peay State University Alumni, a Trevecca Nazarene University Graduate, US Army and Reservist Veteran, Member and Officer of St James Masonic Lodge 51, Licensed Therapist, and enjoyed singing with the 13th Episcopal District Conference Choir.
He lastly retired from the State of Tennessee as a Probation and Parole Officer. Shedrick was baptized and a member of St Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church, Clarksville, TN. He was a gifted pianist and organist. Shedrick dedicated over 50 years of service to his church and the community as a minister of music. He loved being recognized as the family historian.
Beloved by family as Shed Jr, he leaves to hold dear a brother, George Hoosier, I (Karen) and sister, Sharon Hoosier Poindexter (Sammy), with a lineage of nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends
