Margaret Ann Merriwether

Ms. Margaret Ann Garrett Merriwether was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on January 10, 1938 to the union of Ernest Garrett Sr. and Rena Keesee. She entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at her residence in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Sister Merriwether accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Ogburn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Clarksville Montgomery County School Systems, graduating from Burt High School, Class of 1956.

Miss. Margaret Garrett was united in Holy Matrimony to James Merriwether Sr.  in 1964.

Sister Merriwether was employed with Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee for a number of years, until her retirement. She loved praying and studying the Word, watching Soap Operas, hairstyling, and spending time with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories brother, Ernest (Robin) Garrett Jr., children, Stevie (Peggy) Garrett, Warren (Valeria) Garrett, Beverly (Shawn) Jackson, James (Angie Osborne) Merriwether Jr., Greg (Nita) Merriwether, & Brian Merriwether, 16 grandkids & 24 great grandkids, a host of cousins, a niece, a nephew, friends, classmates, and loved ones.
