Howard Anthony Gentry, Jr. was born on February 21, 1953 in Clarksville, Tennessee to Rachel Clardy and Howard Gentry, Sr. who preceded him in death.
Howard received his education from the Clarksville Montgomery County School System and was a 1971 graduate of Clarksville High School.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country and received an honorable discharge.
After the military, Howard continued his education by attending Austin Peay State University. He relocated to Detroit, MI and later to Sacramento, CA.
If you knew Howard you were exposed to a wealth of knowledge. He was an avid reader. He loved reading various books and studying all religions. He was known to have read the bible from cover to cover on several occasions. Howard was a thinker which made him an excellent chess player and he enjoyed playing pool as well. He will be greatly missed.
On Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Howard answered God's beckoning call to cease from his earthly labors and enter into eternal rest.
In addition to his parents, Howard was also preceded in death by his sister, Beverlie Gentry Wilson and grandmother, Bertha Theus.
Those left to cherish his precious memories are his loving and devoted children, Antonio Gentry, Demetrius (Bridget) Gentry, DeQuan Gentry, Montreal Gentry and Jameel Gentry, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, sisters, Bonnie Andrews, Pamela Andrews-Bennett and Eunice Andrews-Washington as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
