Fredrick Keys was born July 4, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Joe Fred Patterson and Ceclia Robinson. He departed this life Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Fred professed a hope in Christ at an early age. Locally he was united with Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Ky. He was educated in the Cook County Chicago Schools attending Sawyer Elementary School and graduating from T L Weston High School in Greenville, Mississippi.
Fred was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley Durr from 1970-1972 later to Eleanor Woods from 1976 – 2001 and finally to Stella Evans in 2002-2007.
Fred enlisted in the US Armed Forces branch of the Army. He received and Honorable Discharge as a Private First Class E3.
Fred held various employments to include; salesman for many years, Physical Education Teacher at Wilson Elementary School over the Intermural Program, Assembly Line Worker at Josten’s for 10 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool and hew was very good at it. Also was a perfect score bowler, playing card games, listening to his music and singing in the Choir.
Fred was preceded in death by grandmother, Bertha Robinson, mother, Cecila Keys, father, Joe Fred Patterson, uncle, Ed Lee Robinson, sister, Renaye Williams, ex-wife, Eleanor Keys, great-granddaughter, Majestic Keys and several other relatives.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Stephanie Keys, Kiera (Aaron) Hersey and Sidney Keys of Clarksville, Tn., Tina Carter of Kenosha, WI., and Kimberley Williams and Yolanda Foster, step-daughters, as well as a host of other children near and far. Grandchildren, Dominique, Sade, Spencer, Louis, Deja, Satin, Kiaral, Spenesha, Sincere, Ayanna, Miracle, Danae, Christian, Amari, Christopher, Micheal, Toney, Imani, Deivien, Vontrell, Trevell a host of other grandchildren and special young people in his life, god child, Cecil Gordon, Kenosha, WI, 18 great-grandchildren, Louis Jr., Kehiani, Navier, Niamor, Nyalah, Nyael, Knowledge, Parker, Greyson, An’alia, Braylen, Phoebe, Kehlena, Kehnmsli, Zuri, Royalty, Niyouri, and Nation King, grand-dog, Leelo, brothers, Willie Patterson, Chicago, IL., Charles Keys, Reginald Patterson, Edward Patterson all of Kenosha, WI, sisters, Patricia Keys, Zion, Ill, Stevie Patterson and Bertha Patterson, Kenosha, WI and Kim Jones, Kentucky, a host of other siblings, lifetime friend, Eugene Graves, best friend, Comer Comer “Uncle Pete” Mallory and his very special devoted close friend, Cynthia Williams.
