Etta Joyce Oliver was born August 10, 1946, in Montgomery County. She was the second child born to William Davis Johnson and Beulah Mae (Pendleton) Johnson. Joyce departed this life on March 15, 2023 to eternal rest. Joyce accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Guildfield M.B. Church. Shortly after graduating from Burt High School, Joyce married and moved to
Jackson, Michigan to start a new chapter of her life with her husband. Born to their union was her only child, Anthony Lamont Oliver. Joyce resided in Jackson, MI for over 50 years where she had a long career in the Health Care Field. A few years after retiring from Jackson-Hillsdale Community Mental Health Facility, Joyce decided to move back home to Guthrie after her health began to fail.
Etta was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Mae Johnson, her father, William D. Johnson, her brother, Lonnie Johnson, her sister, Mildred Ann Cleveland.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Anthony Oliver; two sisters; Wanda (Ronnie) Snorden of Clarksville, TN and Stephanie (David) Gold of Savannah, GA. Two brothers, Frankie Lane Johnson and Victor (Jeanette) Johnson Sr both of Guthrie, KY. One brother-in-law, Leroy Cleveland of Guthrie, Ky. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
